COVID-19
It is the first of the month in an unprecedented time. The world faces a new enemy that cannot be seen or heard. Most of the people I encounter try to be positive, but I wonder if they “really” have a positive outlook or is that just a mask to hide the fear that so many are feeling. Every day we are bombarded with so much negative information about the casualties of this war. I wonder why we keep track of the casualties, but not the survivors. The misinformation is what I believe causes the most fear. It seems as though we cannot get the information right. Even the experts do not seem to know what precautions to take…one day it is do this and not that, the next day, it is “hey, don’t do that either.” I also believe that misinformation is why people are not taking any of the warnings seriously. When you get conflicting information from multiple sources, people just shut down from information overload and just take their chances. Think about it, every time you leave your home, you are throwing the dice with your life. But, it seems that so many people are going on business as usual. No one has laid out a clear plan of action, so if feels as though we are more reactive than proactive in this situation. The question is when and how will we come out of this, what lessons will we have learned, and how will we have changed?
